As RV'ers continue to demand more amenities for their lifestyles, the ALS 20 Automatic Load Shed Device helps electrical systems safely operate more items from a limited number of circuit breakers. ALS 20 allows operation of two 20-amp loads from a single 20-amp branch circuit. ALS 20 is designed to meet the requirements of NEC Section 551.42 to allow operation of more than two 120-volt thermostatically controlled devices.

In a typical RV installation, ALS 20 has a shedable load such as an electric water heater connected to the shed scircuit and a priority load circuit typically used to power on-demand devices such as a microwave oven or toaster. The device on the shed circuit can be delated temporarily via the ALS 20 to allow the on-demand device to operate when needed.
